Disneybound of the Week 6: Mary Poppins

This week's Disneybound features Mary Poppins. When deciding to do a Mary Poppins Disneybound, I decided to base my outfit on her white and red outfit from the Jolly Holiday sequence in the film. Mary Poppins has always been a favorite character of mine, and I was so excited to figure out a Disneybound for her. The Jolly Holiday scene has always been my favorite from the movie, so I naturally wanted to do it first. Having tea in a beautiful garden with penguins not only serving tea, but dancing with Burt. It seemed like the epitome of a good time. This is also the same outfit that Mary Poppins wears in the parks, so it seemed doubly appropriate. Anyway, enough of this. Let's break down the look.

Obviously, for this outfit, the colors are white and red. Her actual outfit is a dress with a red corset waist, red ribbing, and red ribbon details. She also wears a white hat. It's a gauzy, flowing, very Edwardian style dress, and absolutely gorgeous. Now, I don't own anything remotely close to this, but I can do red and white. So, I decided to wear white jeans with a red shirt and white cardigan. The jeans are by Gloria Vanderbilt, and I got them at Kohl's. The shirt is a Time and Tru from Walmart. The cardigan is by 89th & Madison, and it came from Ross. I don't own white boots like Mary wears, so I just wore flip flops. I made sure that no one could see my feet in the pictures because they kind of ruined the look. I also wore simple red earrings and a red and silver bracelet. I did wear my hair up, and I secured my ponytail with a red velvet scrunchie. I kept my makeup simple and classic, just like Mary Poppins always is. All in all, it's a very simple look, but very effective. I do hope to redo this one at some point in the future with a dress and hat. We'll see.

Since the outfit was so simple, I wanted the environment for the photos to be something unique. After scouring my hometown, I decided on a coffee shop located inside of an old mill. They have a beautiful Victorian style sofa located under a window that always has beautiful lighting. It's vintage and eclectic, with great drinks and food to boot. Some of you will recognize the location as one of the locations I used in some of my Tinkerbell Disneybound photos. It also just goes to show that you can find photo inspiration anywhere and everywhere. So, what do you think of this Disneybound look? Do you have any suggestions for Disneybounds that you would like to see in the future?
