Disneybound of the Week 13: Animal Kingdom

This week, we wrap up the parks of Walt Disney World with Animal Kingdom. This may be the youngest park at WDW, but I truly believe that it is the most underappreciated. There is so much to see, but you have to take the time to find it, notice it, and actually look at the world around you. If you just go from ride to ride, you miss so much of what makes Animal Kingdom great. For starters, you miss most of the animals, which is kind of the point of the whole park. The Imagineers actually designed the park to attempt to force you to slow down and appreciate the environment and the world around you. Many of the animals simply can't be seen at a glance, and you have to see their habitat and find them within it. Some of them are great at camouflage. The next time you go to Animal Kingdom, I challenge you to find at least one animal that you've never seen there before. You'll be surprised what you find, and you won't be disappointed, I promise. I recently started doing this after watching "The Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom" on Disney+, and I have gained a whole new love for the park. Anyway, back to the Disneybound.

I based the look for this Disneybound on the Tree of Life, obviously, since it's the park icon. I went with the brown and green color scheme of the tree, but tried to incorporate lots of texture and pattern within the look. I wanted to do justice to the spirit of the park, and I think I delivered. So, let's break it down.

For this look, I wore brown pants, a grey Minnie Mouse T-shirt, a green jacket, and black boots. The pants are by Lee, and they're super comfortable. The shirt is a dark heathered grey with an animal print Minnie on the front. The head is zebra print, and the bow is a reptile print, all done in rose gold. It's by Apt. 9, and I got it at Kohl's. The jacket is a faux suede moto jacket, and it's by Lauren Conrad, which I also purchased at Kohl's. The boots are by Kelly & Kate, and I got them at DSW. I also wore cheetah print hoop earrings, and a stamped bronze bangle bracelet. I topped off the look with my favorite amber tinted sunglasses, which I got at JC Penney. All-in-all, I think I did fairly well with this Disneybound, but what do you think? Let me know in the comments.
